Samsung Galaxy Watch Will Be More Health & Fitness Oriented[Rumor]

Ssmsung's next-gen smartwatch likely to give a tough fight Apple Watch Series 4

A lot of rumors about Samsung’s next-generation smart watch’s specs, features, design and release date have been making rounds on the internet for some quite now. Last month, the South Korean company almost confirmed the name of its upcoming smartwatch by listing the device on its official website.

Technology new portal CNET captured the screenshot of a rose gold-colored wearable called the Galaxy Watch on Samsung’s US website, claiming a 42mm display diameter and Bluetooth connectivity. There were no other specs detailed under the smartwatch on the listing. Samsung immediately pulled the listing from its site.

Going by the listing, it seems the tech giant has canned its Gear smartwatch line in favor of the new Galaxy line. Samsung’s launched its first smartwatch, the Galaxy Gear, back in 2013. Since then, the smartphone maker has added the Gear S2, Gear S3, and Gear Sport to its lineup, along with a couple of fitness trackers. Considering the tech giant’s existing line of Galaxy products, the Galaxy Watch seems to perfectly fit into the frame.

Talking more about Samsung Galaxy Watch specs, the wearable tech is rumored to run the latest version of Samsung’s Tizen operating software. However, there are multiple reports that the tech giant may finally opt for Google’s Android Wear OS for its smartwatch. It is also speculated that the company might launch both Android and Tizen versions of the Galaxy Watch.

Among other specs, the next-gen Samsung smartwatch is expected to feature digital voice assistant Bixby, OLED display, LTE support, and 470mAh battery. According to rumored information revealed by Reddit user u/Wan997, the watch will be rolled out in two different sizes- 46mm and 42mm. He has stated that the larger watch will feature a massive seven-day battery life.

As far as the design is concerned, Wan997 has claimed that it will look similar to the Gear Sport. The Galaxy Watch will likely be more health and fitness oriented, just like the Apple Watch. It will likely come with 40 workout modes versus 10 modes on the Gear S3.

Samsung is rumored to launch the Galaxy Watch, alongside the Galaxy Note 9 on August 9 in New York.
