Third Edition Of AfricaDays HEC Paris To Focus On African Solutions for Global Issues

HEC Paris is organizing the third edition of AfricaDays on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. The theme for the third edition of AfricaDays is “African Solutions for Global Issues”.

The annual conference, which will be held at the HEC Paris campus, will provide an opportunity for African development actors to propose their solutions to address the two major challenges plaguing the African continent- electrification of rural areas and the valuation of creative industries, and raise awareness and federate students and professionals to themes related to entrepreneurship and African economic potential.

The evening will be marked by the presence of Professor Ju di Wakhungu, Ambassador of Kenya in France and Minister of the Environment from 2013 to 2018, and Blick Bassy, ​​Cameroonian composer and entrepreneur.

The event will be marked by two panels. The first “Effective Solutions for Africa’s Electrification of Rural Areas” panel will address the issue of rural electrification in Africa and suggest innovative solutions for the electrification of rural areas.

The second panel, “Shedding Light panel on Untapped Industries in Africa – The Music Industry” will focus on the need to promote the music industry, an important cultural heritage of the continent, often the preserve of oligopolies.

Another important highlight of AfricaDays 2019 will be a preview of the “Top 100 African start-up companies to invest in 2019 “, by the founder of MyAfricanStartup Christian Kamayou and HEC Junior Conseil. Launched in 2017, the index lists 100 high-potential African start-ups to give them more visibility with international investors.
