New reports suggest the much-anticipated successor to the Huawei Watch 2, dubbed the Huawei Watch GT, will likely get unveiled at Huawei’s October 16 launch event where the smartphone maker is expected to take the wraps off the new Mate 20 line of handsets- the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro and the Freebuds 2 Pro.
Talking about Huawei Watch GT specs, the upcoming smartwatch is rumored to be rolled in two variants- a Classic (or possibly Fashion) model, and a Sport model. The variants will likely share the same internal specs except for the bands and color schemes.
According to rumors, the Huawei Watch GT specs list includes a circular 1.4-inch AMOLED display with 454 x 454 resolution, a brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, Wear OS 2.1 and 4GB of internal storage. The smartwatch’s display along with the bezels will bring the total diameter to 46.5mm, while it’s thickness will be around 10.4mm.
It is also speculated that the Huawei Watch GT will come with a large 420mAh battery, which will be enough to support up to 14 days of continues use, or 7 days with Always On Mode activated. With GPS turned on, the battery life will be reduced to only 20 hours.
The wearable device is expected to come packed with sensors including a heart rate monitor, GPS and compass. Sleep tracking is also on the menu. The device will also be water resistant allowing athletes to track swimming. Huawei’s collaboration with Firstbeat will provide a virtual personal running instructor to the Huawei Watch GT users.
The tech giant is also expected to launch a new fitness bracelet codenamed Huawei Terra which will feature a 0.95-inch AMOLED display alongside a GPS and a heart rate monitor. The fitness bracelet will be water resistant and have a potential battery life of up to 14 days.
As far as pricing is concerned, the Huawei Watch GT is expected to cost around $275, while the fitness band is expected to cost around $140.
Huawei is yet to confirm Huawei Watch GT specs, price and release date details.
