The Galaxy A series handsets include Galaxy A30, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A70, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A10, A80, and A2 Core. They are priced from R1,299 to R12,999.

“Galaxy A is designed to provide an option for everyone, whether for first-time mobile users or value-seekers,” Justin Hume, Director Integrated Mobility at Samsung South Africa, reported MyBroadband. “We focussed on the needs of the local market and have researched the unique preferences to bring the flagship experience to a broader audience. It offers premium features to South Africans who want to live the Galaxy life”.

The Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A20 smartphones feature the same 6.4-inch infinity-U display, and 4 000mAh batteries, in addition to advanced camera systems. Storage for the A30 is 64GB and 32GB for the A20.

The A70 is a 6.7-inch device, while the A50 is 6.4-inches. The A70 and A50 have a battery of 4 500mAh and 4 000mAh respectively. Both the smartphones feature on-screen fingerprint, ultra-wide angle and triple camera, infinity-U display and default storage space of 128GB.

The Samsung Galaxy A80 is the real scene-stealer out of the lot all thanks to its new rotating camera system. The completely bezel-free phone features a 6.7-inch display, a high screen-to-body-ratio of 85.8 percent, a 48-megapixel f/2.0 camera with an ultrawide (123-degree) 8-megapixel camera and a 3D depth sensor.

The A2 Core has a 1.6GHz octa-core CPU, 2 600mAh battery and comes with storage space of 16GB or 8GB.

Samsung has listed specifications for the Galaxy A10, Galaxy A20, Galaxy A30, and Galaxy A50 on its local website. The Samsung Galaxy A70 will be available in late April in South Africa and the Galaxy A80 will be available in June. The new A series pricing will start at R1,299 for the new A50 ending with the new Samsung Galaxy A80 that will retail for R12,999.
