Huawei Mate 20 Pro Specs, Features & Release Details Known So Far

Huawei Mate 20 Pro is expected to be announced in October this year

Chinese smartphone maker Huawei is expected to announce three Mate 20 smartphone versions this year, including the most affordable Lite version, the mid-tier regular version, and the premium expensive Pro version. A lot of rumors and speculations surrounding Huawei Mate 20 Pro specs, features, and price and release date have already flooded the web.

Talking about Huawei Mate 20 Pro specs, the handset is expected to feature a 6.9 inch notch-less and bezel-less display, the yet-to-be-announced HiSilicone Kirin 980 chipset, 6GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage, an in-display fingerprint sensor, Face ID-like face recognition, IP67 dust- and water-resistance certification, and Android 9.0 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 OS. The handset is rumored to be powered by a relatively large 4,200mAh battery slightly larger than the 4,000mAh unit found in the Mate 10 released last year.

The smartphone maker is expected to launch the Kirin 980 at IFA 2018 in early September. The Kirin 980 is rumored to boast eight processing cores – four ARM-designed Cortex A77 cores clocked at 2.8GHz and four Cortex A55 cores. The chipset will have a max clock of 2.8GHz, and it’s rumored to deliver 20 percent better performance while consuming 40 percent less energy.

In terms of camera, the Mate 20 Pro is expected to feature a triple-lens camera system like the P20 Pro, but it will come with a 42-megapixel sensor and not a 40-megapixel one that was seen on the P20 Pro. Huawei Mate 20 Pro is likely to face direct competition from Apple’s 2018 generation iPhones and Samsung Galaxy S10.

As far as Huawei Mate 20 Pro release date is concerned, the company is rumored to follow the same October launch frame for its next batch of Mate smartphones. Notably, the Mate 10 smartphone was announced in October last year.

We advise our readers to take the information with a pinch of salt as nothing about Huawei Mate 20 Pro specs, features, price or release date have been officially announced by the makers.
