Apple iPad Pro 2018 Key Specs List Gets Leaked Online

The next-gen iPad Pros to be faster than iPhones launched this year

While Apple fans were expecting Apple iPad Pro 2018 to get unveiled alongside the latest iPhone smartphones at the September launch event, the same did not happen. Now if new reports are to be believed the Cupertino-based company might introduce new 2018 iPad Pro models, new Macs, and more at an exclusive keynote event later this month.

According to a new report coming from 9to5Mac, citing sources familiar with the development of the new 2018 iPad Pro, the next generation iPad Pro could come with a new A12X processor, which will be faster than the A12 processor found on this year’s iPhone models, that is the XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR.

Among other specs, Apple iPad Pro 2018 will feature an edge-to-edge display and thinner bezels, which will be wide enough to accommodate the TrueDepth camera system necessary for Face ID. Apple is expected to stick with IPS LCD screen technology for the upcoming iPad. The device will reportedly ditch the Home button, much like the iPhone, and will also not have a notch.

Furthermore, there will be a Face ID function that will work in both portrait and landscape orientations, though it won’t work upside down. The Face ID setup process on the upcoming iPad Pros will be similar to the process introduced with the iPhone X.

The next-gen iPad Pros will also offer USB-C and external display capabilities. Users will be able to adjust the resolution, HDR, and brightness of 4K HDR videos using a new panel in the settings app. There will also be a revamped Apple Pencil that will connect to and pair with the new iPad Pros by proximity, much like Apple’s Airpods. It currently remains unclear if the current model of Apple Pencil will work well with the new iPad.

The new iPad Pro will also come with a brand new connector to allow for connection of different accessories, such as a new version of the Smart Keyboard and other third-party accessories.
