Donald Trump Says Global Leaders Were Laughing With Him, Not At Him

The US President Donald Trump dismissed all the reports that claimed that world leaders present at the annual UN General Assembly meeting laughed at him while he boasted about his government’s successes during his the annual UN General Assembly. speech.

Trump said that the global leaders were not laughing at him but they were laughing with him as they had a good time listening to him.

“They weren’t laughing at me, they were laughing with me,” the US President told journalists in New York on Wednesday. “We had fun. That was not laughing at me. So the fake news said people laughed at President Trump. They didn’t laugh at me. People had a good time with me. We were doing it together. We had a good time. They respect what I’ve done.”

Trump began his speech by describing the American economy as booming like never before. He claimed that his government has accomplished much more in less than two years as compared to the previous governments in the history of America.

As Trump went on boasting his government’s achievements, the audience which included leaders from different countries across the world who were listening to a translation through headphones, began to smile. Some even broke into outright laughter.

Though the audience’s unexpected reaction interrupted Trump, he smiled and said, “I didn’t expect that reaction, but that’s OK.”

On Wednesday, the US President also admitted that his friendship with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping could be over he accused Beijing of undermining his prospects in upcoming elections.

“He’s a friend of mine,” President Trump said of Xi Jinping. “He may not be a friend of mine anymore”.

Trump also talked about America’s relation with North Korea saying that the US would have been drawn into a war with North Korea if he had not been elected. He added that his attempt to make a peace deal with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has likely resulted in peace between the two countries.
