Donald Trump Says His Government Has Taken Toughest Ever Action Against China’s Abusive Trade Practices
Trump claims that several countries now want to make a deal with the US
While addressing supporters at an election rally in Wisconsin on Wednesday, President Donald Trump said that the United States has taken the toughest ever action to take down on China’s abusive trade practices. The US has around USD 500 billion trade deficit with China every year and this according to Trump is unsustainable for the US.
“We’ve taken the toughest ever action to crack down on China’s abusive trade practices,” Trump told his supporters at the election rally, reported Financial Express.
The Trump administration has been steadily imposing tariffs on Chinese exports to the country since June this year. China has also responded back by imposing tariffs on US imports.
Trump claimed that the tough measures undertaken by his government have forced China to make a deal with America. He also mentioned the massive trade imbalance between the US and China.
“They want to make a deal,” the US President said. “And I said, you’re not ready yet. It’s true. They want to make a deal. And President Xi is a great person, and, hopefully, we’ll do something soon or someday. But, you know, USD 500 billion has been taken out of this country for years every year.”
Trump blamed the previous governments of allowing other countries to exploit the US and rob money out of the country. He said that the new trade agreements that he is currently negotiating with other countries will help in strengthening the US economy.
The President claims that several countries now want to make a deal with the US as they don’t want to face the same situation as China is facing due to the ongoing trade war.
“Don’t do that to me, President Trump. We don’t want tariffs. We don’t want tariffs, please,” Trump told his supporters.
Trump reiterated that he is always concerned about the welfare of the wants to take care of Americans.
“We’re taking care of our people. You know, we had these globalists. They didn’t care so much about us. They want to take care of the globe. I want to take care of the United States of America,” he said.
