Donald Trump Willing To Fulfil Kim Jong Un’s Wishes, Says South Korea’s Moon Jae-in
Trump likely to hold a second meeting with Kim in January or February next year
After meeting the United States President Donald Trump at the G20 economic summit in Argentina, South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in said Trump has asked him to pass on a message to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un that he likes him and is willing to fulfill all his wishes.
Moon is likely to host Kim soon on the first-ever trip to Seoul by a North Korean leader as agreed earlier this year. However, it still remains unclear whether Kim will visit Seoul by the end of this year.
“The message is that President Trump has very favorable views toward Chairman Kim and he likes him,” Moon told reporters while on a flight from Argentina to New Zealand on his return from the G20 summit, reported ABC News. “As such, he asked me to tell Chairman Kim that he wants to implement the rest of their agreement together and he will fulfill Chairman Kim’s wishes.”
Trump met Kim in Singapore in June this year and pledged to work towards denuclearization. He said on Saturday that his second meeting with the North Korean leader is currently in planning. The meeting will possibly take place in January or February, with three sites for their meeting under consideration.
“We’re getting along very well. We have a good relationship,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
Trump also added that he is planning to invite Kim to the United States.
The recently held G20 summit in Argentina saw the top leaders from the world’s largest economic powerhouses come under one roof to discuss world trade and issues. The list included names of the United States President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to name a few.
