North Korea Tests A New Unspecified High-Tech Tactical Weapon Amid Ongoing Denuclearization Talks With US

While US President Donald Trump is lauding North Korea’s denuclearization efforts, a new report claims North Korea recently tested a newly developed ultramodern tactical weapon.

According to a report coming from Yonhap News Agency, quoting the Korean Central Broadcasting Station, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un inspected the successful test of a new unspecified “high-tech tactical” weapon, reported Fox News.

The report says Kim undertook the inspections at a testing site at a national defense institute, but, did not disclose the exact testing location or revealing the nature of the weapon.

Notably, North Korea hasn’t publicly tested any weapons since November of last year when the Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile had been tested. But, earlier this month, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry warned it could resume its state policy of strengthening its nuclear arsenal if the United States does not offer any sanctions relief.

While North Korea wants the US to first remove the sanctions, the US is demanding North Korea to first give up its nuclear weapons before removing all the sanctions.

A recent report revealed satellite pictures of 13 of the suspected 20 hidden nuclear missile development sites in North Korea that remained undeclared by the government. While it was expected that the revelation might bring a halt to the ongoing US-North Korea denuclearization talks, Trump’s revelation that he knows all about the undeclared North Korean missile bases surprised everyone.

Trump has been openly praising his efforts to bring Kim Jong-un to the table during their first summit held in Singapore in June this year, signing a vaguely worded deal on denuclearization. He even claims that he is the one who should be credited to avert a possible war with North Korea.

The two leaders are now planning a second summit which is expected to take place in early 2019.
