Oppo R17 Specs & Features Gets Listed On Oppo’s Official Website

Oppo R17 expected to launch in China sometime later this month

Smartphone maker Oppo is expected to announce four new smartphones this month including the Oppo R17 and R17 Pro, and the Oppo F9 and F9 Pro. While the F9 Pro is set to launch in India on August 21, the company’s R17 series smartphones are likely to debut in China by the end of this month.

The smartphone giant has already listed the Oppo R17 on its official website revealing all the specs and features of the handset. In terms of tech specs, the Oppo R17 features a 6.4-inch display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and a 91.5 percent screen-to-body ratio, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 chipset, 8GB of RAM coupled with 128GB of internal storage and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The R17 Pro is expected to come powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC and feature 8GB of RAM, Android 8.1 Oreo OS, and triple rear cameras. Both the smartphones will come equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader that will unlock the device in just 0.41 seconds.

As far as the camera is concerned, the handset boasts a 25 MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and rear-facing AI smart dual-lens cameras. The front camera will also support AI portrait mode and other selfie-centric features. The exact configuration of the dual camera setup is not known yet.

It houses a 3500mAh non-removable battery and supports VOOC fast charging technology which is capable of charging the device to more than 50 percent in just half an hour. Connectivity features of the smartphone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. Furthermore, the OPPO R17 will come preloaded with the new ColorOS 5.2.

The handset is listed in two different color options- Twilight Blue and Starry Purple. Although the exact release date of Oppo R17 has not yet been officially revealed, rumors are rife that the smartphone may hit the Chinese market on Aug. 23. As the listing, the phone will be available for preorders starting from August 18.
